What can I do to help my son from playing in cl?

My 6 yr old is in Kindergarten this year and was doing great with grades and behavior. Recently he has been getting into a lot of trouble by talking excessively or playing in cl. He is very bright and I believe he may be getting bored with cl because he gets finished and then has nothing else to do but act out. Is there any essment that could be done to find out where he is with his intellect?
