Woah! Am I misinterpreting this or did this just really happen?

I've been friends with a guy for 1 year. Now that he lives on the same floor as me of my apartment buidling we hang out CONSTANTLY. We've both hinted that we like each other...but I think we're both weary of relationships now. Just now, I was talking to him about how I want to see a certian movie. He texted me back and said, "K, it's a date." Do you think that's literally what he meant? A date? Or just time to hang out...
