Why is my central heating doing this?

We have a combi boiler and when we have a shower or run any hot water the radiators get hot, weather the heating is turned on or not! One neighbour says we need a plumber and it will cost a fortune, the other says she had the same problem and realised that the temperature of the water needed turning down on the boiler. Anybody know what the answer is?
